This road has been such a mess for a long time, but now it looks like the work is about done.
September is when the annual pilgrimage to escort the patron of Álora, la Virgen de las Flores, back to her sanctuary takes place. More pics here.
Is so popular in this town and it took place in the weekend.
Most days I go out walking for an hour or two … rehabilitation after I fractured my ankle. Mainly walking the streets of my town that is not that big. And I bring my camera, of course.
Thought I had walked most of the streets when I discovered somewhere I had not been before. Love when that happens. The view of the town from that spot is kind of “from the back” and there is just so many details to look at.
Sunday after the 8th of September is the day of the annual pilgrimage to escort the patron of Álora, la Virgen de las Flores, back to her sanctuary after nine days in the parroquial church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación. The virgin is escorted by carts, wagons, tractors, people on horsebacks, and people on foot.
It’s a big day in town … and it’s a big day for photographers of all kinds.
This photo was among the 30 best of almost 2.000 submitted from the Mijas photo marathon 2015.
